American Women in Radio and Television (AWRT): National membership organization working to improve opportunities for and images of women in broadcasting.

Association for Women in Communications (AWC): Professional organization that champions the advancement of women across all communications disciplines.

Association for Women in Sports Media (AWSM): Support network for women journalists, editors, producers and broadcasters who cover sports.

International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF): Provides training and aims to strengthen women’s voices in the media, representing women journalists from over 100 countries.

Journalism and Women Symposium (JAWS): Brings together women journalists, educators and researchers for professional support and personal growth.

Mentoring, Inspiring Women in Radio (MIW): Women radio executives committed to the advancement of women in the industry.

National Federation of Press Women (NFPW): National network for women working in communications and journalism.

Women’s Media Center (WMC): Advocacy group for equitable treatment of women in the media.

Women In Media and News (WIMN): Advocacy group that promotes equity for women as subjects, sources, producers and reporters of news.

Our Focus

NMWE is a unique initiative addressing opportunity and innovation, recruitment and retention for women in journalism by spotlighting their ingenuity and entrepreneurial abilities. Pilot projects will show what can be done. Research will tell us what more to do. And an awards program and summit will showcase women’s creative ideas. NMWE is supported by the McCormick Foundation.
